This poster is to promote a retro-themed concert. The revue features music and dance from 1900 to the 1960s and is a combined effort of swing band Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys, The Charlie Brown Brass Band, the Sugar Blue Burlesque dancers, and swing dancers from Swing It!
I designed it in the style of a mid-century concert poster.
It’s an unwritten design rule to keep the number of fonts used in any design to a minimum. However to emulate the 1950s Rhythm & Blues concert posters this design breaks that rule with an impressive 14 fonts! So for all the font geeks out there…
